Support the game
What support for Sanamahti would pay for and what it does not buy. Ways to give support have not been set up yet, so please get in touch.
Sanamahti is made by one person, Alex Liao. There is no ready way to give support yet. If you would like to support the work, get in touch.
What you would be supporting
Sanamahti is a Finnish word game that is being made into a meter of present-day Finnish vocabulary. The goal is a dictionary that is updated every week, gives the reasons for every change and shows how many players know each word. The data is meant to be published openly for researchers and students.
The game exists and can be played today. The living lexicon and the meter are still in the making.
What support would pay for
- Development time. The project is one person’s work, and time is scarce. Support would give time to finish the lexicon and the meter.
- Running costs. The servers of the game and, once the lexicon is in use, the weekly lexicon run and the AI it uses.
- Open data. The data has to be documented and published so that researchers and students can use it and cite it.
What support does not buy
Words, word sponsorships and visibility are not for sale. Support has no effect on which words enter the lexicon or on what the meter shows.
How the game is funded today
The game is free. Its income comes from advertising in the app and from in-app purchases.
